How weeks are counted
The calculator first counts the days between the dates, then divides by 7. The whole number is the full weeks and the remainder is the extra days. The decimal value is the same period as a fraction of weeks, which is handy for spreadsheets and plans.
| From | To | Weeks | Decimal |
|---|---|---|---|
| January 1, 2026 | December 31, 2026 | 52 weeks | 52 |
| October 31, 2026 | December 31, 2026 | 8 weeks and 5 days | 8.71 |
| September 1, 2026 | June 30, 2027 | 43 weeks and 1 day | 43.14 |
Counting both dates
By default the start date is not counted. Tick “Count both dates” to add it, which can turn 6 days into a full week. See inclusive vs. exclusive counting for when each makes sense.
