How age is calculated
Age is counted in completed years, then completed months, then the days since the last monthly anniversary of the birth date. This is the way age is normally stated, so someone born on January 1, 2000 turns 27 on January 1, 2027.
The totals (months, weeks, days and hours) are the full span from the date of birth to the “age on” date. Hours assume 24-hour days and ignore the time of birth.
Born on February 29
In years without February 29, this calculator treats February 28 as the birthday. Some countries use March 1 for legal purposes, so check the local rule if the exact day matters.
