How business days are counted
- Counting: the days after the start date up to and including the end date. Tick “Count both dates” to include the start date too.
- Adding: counting starts the day after the start date. Ten business days after a Monday is the Monday two weeks later.
- Days you leave unselected in “Working days” count as weekend days.
- A holiday only changes the result when it falls on a working day.
Weekends and holidays around the world
Most countries rest on Saturday and Sunday, but some use Friday and Saturday, and many businesses work six days a week. Select the days that apply to you.
Public holidays are different in every country, and often in every state or region, so the calculator does not guess them. Add the ones that apply to you, one by one or by pasting a list of dates. Your working days and holidays stay in this browser for your next visit, and they travel with the link when you share a result.
For the United States and the United Kingdom, “Public holidays of” adds them in one step for the years of your dates: the US federal holidays, or the bank holidays of England and Wales, Scotland or Northern Ireland as listed on gov.uk. State and local holidays and company days off are not included.
